Employee Motivation and Employee performance

Employee motivation can be considered as the extent to which the employees tend to perform their assigned tasks with a more energetic manner in order to fulfill the desired goals and objectives. In other words, it emphasizes the level of energy, commitment as well as creativity brought by the employees for the work with the intention of providing a higher work performance by the employees.

It can be identified that there are several internal as well as external factors affecting the employee motivation where such factors can be identified as follows.

Intrinsic Factors

Factors which are generated inside the minds of the employees can be regarded as intrinsic factors where the employees tend to perform the tasks for their self-satisfaction, internal achievement as well as for enjoyment.

Extrinsic Factors

These factors would be generated outside the employee where the achievement of stipulated rewards through the performance of the job responsibilities is considered as extrinsic factors.

Salary and other incentive payments, perceptions regarding job security, self-confidence and preference regarding the assigned task and so on can be identified as extrinsic factors to generate motivation.

It can be identified that the employee motivation creates satisfaction within employees’ minds regarding a stipulated work where the negative implications such as employee turnover, absenteeism would decline creating positive stimulators to enhance their performance level. Therefore, employees are to be motivated properly in order to create a performance driven culture within an organization which can be used to improve employee efficiency s well as effectiveness leading to an improved performance (Nasiboy, 2015).

Hence, it is required to establish proper goals and objectives within the business for each employee aligning to the corporate goals and objectives and stipulated tasks to be assigned them with desired outcomes. In contrast, it is the responsibility of the organizations to improve employee performance where building team work, integrating attractive rewards with the performance driven targets, enhancement of supportive teams and providing regular performance feedbacks and improvement sessions for the employees is vital to uplift overall employee motivation creating positive implication towards employee performance level as well (nataliecook.com, 2015).
