Change Management process for new system implementation
Change is considered as an inevitable element with contemporary business context where the organizations would have to adopt change to the business organization in order to ensure business sustainability along with all challenges. Therefore, it can be identified that the there are enormous changes occurred in the information technology due to numerous IT advancements where business processes are to be changed in accordance with such changes
As a
result, new system developments are implemented by the organization in order to
collect information regarding business operations such as customers, suppliers,
sales and expenses, banking information and so on which can be used for
decision making purposes through the generation of business insights. Moreover,
new systems facilitate to enhance the efficiency of the business operations and
while facilitating the employees in order to undertake the assigned
responsibilities with more convenience
However,
it can be identified that the employees tend to resist towards the change
occurred within the business due to numerous reasons such as issues in job
security, lack of confidence and capability for new systems usage, lack of
awareness regarding the vitality over implementing new systems and its benefits
towards the company and for them and so on. Therefore, these resistance would
negatively affect towards the new system implementation process as well since
the required support in identifying the existing systems and processes,
identification of user gaps in the prevailing systems and undertaking user
acceptance testing and going live of new systems would be challenging
Therefore,
it is significant for any company to adopt a proper change management process
to ensure that the new system implementation process is effectively undertaken.
Therefore, It is required to understand the existing process comprehensively
for which proper employee engagement, making proper education and awareness
regarding new system and creating an excitement regarding new change in the
system within employees’ minds to be created. Once the process is initiated,
change or the new system implementation process to be conducted and proper
training and support to be given to the employees until they adopt the system
effectively. Afterwards, placement of proper controls for the system and
undertaking monitoring process is required. Hence, availability of an effective
change agent is essential
